Welcome

Hi and a big warm welcome to Seva Sanctuary. I’m so grateful you’re here.

Grab yourself a cuppa, get comfy, and let me share a little bit about my journey — and the heart behind Seva Sanctuary.

I’m Dina, the owner and creator of Seva Sanctuary — though truthfully, it’s not just mine. It’s yours too.

I was born in the West Midlands, about 30 minutes from Birmingham. Every so often, my Brummie accent sneaks out — usually when I’m tired, chatting with another Brummie, or after a rare glass of tipple.

My birthday’s on 11th April (presents welcome — lol!)

If you’re into astrology, my Sun is in Aries, Moon in Pisces, and rising sign Sagittarius.

My Journey

I moved to Bournemouth in 2001 to study Tourism at Bournemouth University. After graduating in 2005, I decided to stay - and Bournemouth has been home ever since.

Massage has always been part of my life. Growing up in an Indian family, I learned the art of massage young — using my little feet to press along my mum’s back and legs.

In 2017, I lived in Thailand, where I studied Therapeutic Thai Massage. When I returned to the UK in 2019, I completed my Anatomy & Physiology Level 3 and Full Body Massage certification — officially becoming a qualified massage therapist. Since then, I’ve explored many different modalities and love both giving and receiving massage.

A Few Fun Facts

Travel has always been a huge part of my life. I’ve climbed mountains in the Annapurnas and Mt Kilimanjaro, gone shark diving in Cape Town, and even jumped out of a plane in California.

I was brought up vegetarian and have always loved food. These days, I mostly eat a clean, plant-based diet — although my inner child still loves a cheese toastie, a veggie pizza, and a tiramisu ice cream!

I love to cook and often share recipes on social media, so keep an eye out.

I’m also endlessly curious about what makes us who we are — our minds, emotions, and the impact of how we were raised. I’m a big believer in therapy and personal growth, and I’m fascinated by psychology and relationships. (Yes, that means I watch Love is Blind and MAFS UK while analysing everyone!)

Why Seva Sanctuary?

The name Seva Sanctuary comes from two deeply meaningful words:

Seva (or Sewa) is a Sanskrit term from Hinduism and Sikhism meaning selfless service — the act of helping others without expectation of reward or recognition. It’s a practice that cultivates compassion, unity, and spiritual growth.

Sanctuary means a place of safety, refuge, and home.

That’s exactly what I want Seva Sanctuary to be: a safe space where you can rest, heal, and reconnect with yourself.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. I hope you enjoy exploring the rest of my website, and I look forward to connecting with you soon.

Until then, feel free to send me a message or sign up to my newsletter below.

With love,

Dina x
